RE: clotted cream

Go to Kingarthurflour.com and do a search for clotted dream. They sell it by the bottle for about $9.00. Also, you could check in William Sonoma.

RE: Lancaster, PA

If Beacon Hill in Intercourse is still open give them a try. They are with in walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants in town. They over look an Amish farm and used to have people walking thru the campground selling baked goods. Otherwise check out Old Mill Stream Campground off route 30 in Lancaster.

RE: Assateague Island

We are headed to Assateague State Park, again, on Friday. We like getting into the H-loop because it is the only one with electric hook-ups. There are no other loops with any type of hook-ups. The sites are roomy and open and a walk across the dune to the beach. There are hot water shower bath houses and dump stations located throughout the camping area. The ponies and deer also wander and roam this area and is it a treat to wake up in the morning to the sound of them walking along the roadways.

RE: Colts Neck New Jersey RV Service Place Please

I would agree with using RISCO. Our MH is there right now getting a fuel line replaced, age not vermin damage, this time! We have had work done by them previously and been very pleased.

Thank you so much for sharing your trip. We plan on doing that area, taking about 3 to 4 weeks, in 2009 right after Labor Day.

RE: Leaving and Returning to Long Island

Not sure about getting out of NY, we usually go around on the Tappen Zee. But, when you get into NJ, take the Garden State Parkway south to the end and get on the Cape May Lewes Ferry. It's a fun trip and puts you not far from where you are headed.

What's Under Your Bed?

We are packing to head out, with our Grandsons, on Friday for POCONO Raceway for the race on Sunday. It is hot, to put it mildly, so as I was making the bed I decided to pack away the down comforter under the bed. It was cramped in there so I pulled everything out!!! There were five boxes of the 3XX Zip Loc Big bags for storage, three sets of sheets for our bed, one set of sheets for the couch and twelve very large beach towels!!! We live near the beach, have a pool and only to go the beach in the MH once a year when we go to Assateague and then it is only the two of us! Those towels take up a lot of room. So, now we have more large towels for the pool, I left 4 in there, the storage bags are in the house and there is plenty of room for the comforter until we need it again. And there is room for the large Scrabble board and the XM radio boom box and then some.

If your sister lives in a house and has a sewer clean out you can dump into that. We do it here at home all of the time.

RE: New Jersey Shore Region Campgrounds

Go to www.NewJerseyCampgrounds.com and look in the Greater Atlantic City and Southern Shore Regions. There may be a few in the Shore region but look in the bottom of that region. Your best bet will be to look for a campground in the Cape May area.

RE: Campground Neighbors

I think the OP is right in not wanting to spend time with someone like that. Some camping neighbors think they have to be involved in everyone else's business and think that they have to do things with and visit everyone nearby and be apart of everyone's camping experience. I too enjoy being with groups when we attend an event, but at the end of the day or during concerts and meals we like to pick whom we choose to be with or to passively enjoy the event by ourselves. Not having someone always being in our face and being able to spend some time by ourselves is why we go camping alone most of the time.

RE: NYC and 6 Flags NJ

The closest campground to NYC is Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City and is a parking lot, but and easy train or ferry into the city, so very convenient. You could stay there for a few days and see NYC and then go to one of the campgrounds near Great Adventure, they still have the Safari and a water park. Or stay near Great Adventure and go to one of the shore towns, ie: Belmar, a straight ride east on 195/138 and take the train into the city for the day.
Some campgrounds are:
Liberty Harbor 1-800-646-2066
Turkey Swamp Park Campgrounds www.monmouthcountyparks.com
Butterfly Camping Resort www.Butterflycamp.com
Indian Rock Resort www.indianrockresort.com
Also check out www.newjerseycampgrounds.com

RE: Happy Anniversaries! When are yours?

It will be 37 years together on August 28th. We have had our ups and downs, mostly medical, but have raised three wonderful children and enjoy them living close by and seeing our 4 grandchildren as often as possible. We have been camping in a MH since 1989.

RE: Overnight stop near Allentown, PA

We frequently stay at the Allentown KOA. They have two areas for RVs.
The upper area has full hook-ups and pull thru sites for the larger rigs. The lower area has water and electric I believe, I know they don't have sewer, and these sites are long pull thru.

RE: where do you find a place to park your rv?

There are a few places to look.
Start with www.newjerseycampgrounds.com There are also some state and county parks that have campgrounds. Just do a search for campgrounds with a town name. The closest campgrounds to the shore are all in Cape May, but there are no campgrounds on the beach like in states further south of here. Take the GSP to the end and take the Cape May/Lewes Ferry and go into Delaware. There are a few nice places to camp not far from the ferry. Also, look in the Poconos. We're going to Lancaster, PA, Gettysburg, PA, the Poconos and Ocean City, MD this summer. Not that far but still getting away.
